This is my first time in Japan. I have gotten myself to Osaka, and from there want a leisurely route to Naoshima where I have already made accommodation bookings. And ideas?

Hi There,
I think most people take the Shinkansen to Okayama and from there take a local train to Uno where you can board the ferry. This is by far the fastest route.
However, if you have some extra time consider going via Takamatsu in Shikoku. This city is very beautiful and makes for a great day's visit before you head on to Naoshima.
