Hi...I will be traveling on the dates listed above with my mother. We plan to stay in Asakusa. My mother is from Japan but we both reside in Hawaii. I would like to buy a 14 day jr rail pass. Does my mother qualify for the jr rail pass? Is it worth buying a 14 day rail pass? Can you recommend places for us to visit using the rail pass so we can get our money's worth with the pass. Help!

Your mother does qualify for the JR Pass if she can proof that she lives permanently outside of Japan. You will need to bring something like a permanent visa and proof of adres, such as a utility bill, bank statement (showing the address) or tax slip.

As for traveling, what are you interested in? It is hard to just pull an itinerary out of the blue without having something to work with.
As a base itinerary you could do something like Tokyo - Kyoto - Hiroshima and Miyajima - Naoshima island - Osaka - Tokyo and return home. It is also easy to add in a day trip in a day trip here and there. Such as Nikko, Kamakura and Nara. We also have a 14 day sample itinerary you can consider.
