Hi there,

The JR Pass is valid on all JR lines nation wide, including Tokyo. You can get around Tokyo fairly well with just the JR Pass but note that other transport methods like the metro and non JR busses are not covered by the pass.

We have great interactive map that you can use to get an idea of everything covered.

there is 3 type of lines on the map (green, blue, and orange ) can I use all of them ?

The green lines are covered and include limited express train and local trains,

The blue lines are the high speed bullet trains and are also covered.

The orange lines are (partially) owned by private railway companies and an extra charge may apply.
