Hi - If buying a JR Pass do you need to book trains in advance - or do you just turn up and board?
How do you make train reservations and are these free with JR Pass?

Hi there,

If you purchase a JR Pass, you’ll need to make seat reservations for the trains you plan to board. These can be done at ticket machines or JR ticket desks located inside JR-operated stations, and can be made at no additional cost.
