We are travelling from Los Angeles to Tokyo Narita Airport arriving on Nov 17, 2016. We will go to Kyoto on Nov 23-25. We are staying in a relative house in Chiba. Do we need a 7-day JR pass, can we save by using a pass? Thanks.

Hi there,

I would recommend a 7 day JR Pass if you return from Kyoto to Tokyo.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
