Hi,
I was wondering how it works when you have a student visa but still want to travel a lot around in Japan? Are there special Japan rail passes for students? Since it is not possible to acquire one for me as a student, only as a tourist.

Thank you in advance,
Nina

Hi Nina,

There are no special discounts for students for rail passes or train tickets. You would have to buy a normal ticket for the Shinkansen or change your visa type to be eligible for the JR Pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
