Is JRPass cheaper for my planned itinerary?

This is my itinerary and I intend to buy the 7 days JR pass for use btw Oct 7 to 12. However, I am also considering if it's cheaper to buy return travel tickets (Tokyo-Kyoto) and Kansai pass separately as I understand I can use the Kansai pass for Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe?

Can the JR pass also be used to travel fro Tokyo city to Haneda airport?

04/10 (Sat) SIN to NRT/Tokyo
05/10 (Sun) Tokyo
06/10 (Mon) Tokyo
07/10 (Tues) Tokyo to Kyoto
08/10 (Weds) Kyoto
09/10 (Thurs) Kyoto to Osaka and Kobe
10/10 (Fri) Kyoto
11/10 (Sat) Kyoto to Tokyo
12/10 (Sun) HAN/Tokyo to SIN

Hi Su,

I would definately recommend a JR Pass for your trip. The 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto on the Shinkansen. So basically any additional travel you may do with the JR Pass becomes free. You can use the JR Pass for travel to Osaka and Kobe as well in addition to and from the AIrport.

Thank you Daniel! Much appreciated. i'm also assuming that the JR Pass can be used for JR Sagano line to Arashiyama and JR Nara line to Fushimi Inari?

Hi Su,

Yes both are included!

Good to know may be that you can also travel to Uji from Kyoto with the JR Pass.
