Hakone to Kyoto

Hi there,

From Hakone to Kyoto, use the the Hikari Shinkansen from Odawara station to Kyoto station. This route is fully covered by the JR Pass.

Seat reservations are not required but I do recommend making them, as they give you ease of mind, knowing that your seat is reserved and there's no need to line up beforehand.

Shinkansen have luggage space in overhead compartments and suit cases can be placed near the end of each train car.
