Due to a nationwide issue in the US, many passports are delayed until a few days before travel. Am I able to pay for a rail pass now without my passport number and provide it when I arrive to get the pass in Japan? If not, how late can I purchase one before my trip? I am already two weeks away from travel.

Can I pre-purchase the JR rail pass while waiting for my passport?

Hi there,
We only need your First & Last name, as on your passport. Your passport will be checked once you arrive in Japan and it is no problem to order this ahead of time.
Kind regards,
Daniel
