will JR Pass over this trip?

Thank you to JR for providing this forum for checking our itinerary.

We will arrive at Haneda Tuesday July 20

1) Can I activate the pass at Haneda airport so we can use it to take the train to our Tokyo hotel in Shijuku?

2) Tokyo day trips:
- to Hasedera and Kamakura -Takao san -Nikko -Nokogiri san

3) Tokyo to Osaka direct (Sunday June 25)

4) day trips from Osaka
-to Himeji (to see the castle) -to Nara

4) return to Tokyo direct from Osaka (Friday June 30)

5) return trip to Haneda from Tokyo

Also, should I get reserved tickets for these trips? This is our second Japan trip. Last time we did not find the trains crowded at all.

Hi there,

1.) Yes, the exchange station at Haneda is open between 7:45-18:30

2.) Yes, travel to all these places is included. One note on Hasedera, you can use the JR Pass to Kamakura. From there you can use the EnoShima dentetsu line to Hasedera (190yen/one way). All the other places are covered.

3.) The travel to all other cities is also included. Seat reservations are recommended but not required. You can hop on the train if you like. Personally I tend to make reservations on the day of travel. This way you are secure of seating.
