We are looking to take a train from Takayama JR Station after 18h00 on April 1 to Hiroshima. Hyperdia indicates that there is a train that leaves at 1845 and involves an overnight train (Shin-Osaka, 23h16 to 6h03). Is this leg covered under the JR Pass? Or would we have to pay extra to take this leg and reserve a seat?
