JRpass or individual tickets?

Hi there and thanks for this super forum :-)

We are in Japan between May 9th and May 20th with the following itinerary:

Tokyo : May 9th (morning arrival Haneda) to May 12th (Minato)
May 12th from Tokyo to Omachi - Nagano (Shinano-Kizaki station)
May 15th from Omachi to Kyoto / alternatively From Omachi to Kyoto via a stop in Kanasawa
May 18th from Kyoto to Hiroshima and then to Myiajima same day
May 20th from Myiajima to Haneda
May 21st Leave Japan

It seems to me that the price for individual tickets are similar to the price of a JR pass (7day from 13th to the 20th) - but some of the distances may not be covered by the pass or we miss out on using the pass for public transport in the major cities.

What would you advise be : go for JRpass or individual tickets? Could you share pros and cons?
