JR pass or just single tickets

Day 1 arrive osaka airport and JR to Takayama
Day 3 Takayama to Kanazawa (either bus or JR)
Day 3 to Day 6 random public transport in Kanazawa
Day 6 Kanazawa to Nozawa onsen
Day 9 Nozawa onsen back to osaka airport

Would a 7 or 14 Day pass make sense? It seems to be almost the same as single tickets.

Advice appreciated!

Hi there,

For this route, a normal JR Pass would not be really cost-efficient. Perhaps if you did some day trips from Kanazawa to places like: KagaOnsen, Nagano or Matsumoto could it make sense.

For now, I recommend just buying the tickets as you travel.
