My and my partner will be traveling to Japan, and we are a little bit confused on how convenient the JR Pass it is of us.
Our itinerary is:
14 Arrival to NRT airport
14-20 Tokio, have not decided on traveling to near places
20-Kyoto
21 Kyoto- Nara
22 Day trip to Hiroshima
23 Kyoto
24- Travel to Tokio
24-28 Tokyo
28 TOkyo- NRT. Travel Home.

A 7 day JR Pass is definitely the best option for Tokyo - Kyoto - Nara - Hiroshima - Kyoto - Tokyo. This so much travel, that even a 14 day JR Pass would help you make savings. You could however just buy a 7 day JR Pass and cover this part with it. It also depends a little on how flexible you will want to be in Tokyo. Having a JR Pass will make it very easy to make day trips anywhere, without additional cost.
