'Best of Japan in 14 days'

Hi there,

You will certainly get the Best of Japan Rail Pass with this itinerary! Going for a 14 day JR Pass will give you amazing savings and it will cover by far the bigger part of the itinerary.

As for what to skip, this is a hard question because all places included are great. However you could cut Hakone if you want to have a day more in Kyoto. This would easy to add in and would not change the itinerary a lot. The same goes for Nara however and it may be a better option to skip if you've already seen it, or you could add that day to Kanazawa if you'd like a bit more time there. In the end though, this is a personal preference.

Just keep in mind that your itinerary already looks very good even if you drop one or two palces.
