Hi there!

It really depends on your itinerary and what places you visit. The Hokkaido pass is a little cheaper than the JR Pass but is limited to travel in Hokkaido. The JR Pass allows for nation wide travel so you could for instance use it to travel down to Tokyo.

If you stay in Hokkaido and do a good amount of train travel go for the Hokkaido pass and if you want to see more of Japan go for the JR Pass!

Does it mean I buy JR Pass I can travel in Hoikkaido too?

My plan is take shinkansen from Osaka to Hoikkaido.

Travel in Hokkaido for 7 days.

Then from Hoikkaido, will go to Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka for the last 7 days.

JR Pass is more suitable for me?
