Nagoya-Hiroshima

Hello there,

1.) The price of a one way ticket with the Shinkansen Nagoya - Hiroshima is ¥ 14,030.

2.) The JR Pass is usable for local travel to a certain extend in Nagoya and Hiroshima. Basically you can use all JR lines but other transport such as the metro is not included.

3.) Unfortunately the JR Pass can't be used for travel between Chubu Air and Nagoya station, as this part is traveled on the Meitetsu railway.

4.) Nagoya is pretty easy to get around in and staying in most areas is fine. It would make sense though to try and stay near the station if you want to visit other cities as well.

5.) The full trip Hiroshima - NGO takes about 4 hours, given that you would want to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure I would say try to be on the train around 11 in the morning.

Thank you for you answers that is very help ful. I have another question concerning the journey from Hiroshima to Nagoya Chubu airport. Can you tell me whether I can take the Meitetsu railway from the Shinkansen Station in Nagoya or whether I need to transfer to another station for the Meitetsu railway. If so, how far from the Shinkansen Nagoya station?

Hello Chong,

Nagoya (JR) station and the Meitetsu station are build side by side and there are signs everywhere. So transferring is not hard. Especially when you arrive from Chubu Airport.
