JRPass or not?

That entirely depends on whether you visit Kyoto or not. The 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto on the Shinkansen, with the JR Pass you get 7 days of Unlimited travel for the same price. Which is great as you can use it for travel around Tokyo and to Narita Airport as well.
