I will be going to Japan from Malaysia, and my flight will arrive and depart from Nagoya. I would like to also visit Kyoto and Takyama; any advice on how I should plan my trip? Or where to go first? I would simply like to visit all three places, starting at Nagoya and ending there.

Visiting Nagoya - Takayama - Kyoto looks a bit like a triangle and the visiting order does not really matter. However I there's a lot more shopping to do in Kyoto, so you maybe it is best to visit Takayama first and then go to Kyoto. This way you don't have to carry everything with you.
