Can i get a direct train from Tokyo station to Assagaya station or do i have to change at the daunting Shinjuku, also i'm travelling in October how soon should i order my JR Pass

Hi there,
Yes you can take a direct train from Tokyo - Asagaya station. It's only a 23min ride on the Chuo line.
Here are a couple of examples.
As for the JR Pass, you can purchase it up to 90 days before using it. So a good moment to order it, might be at the begging of August.
