we'll be arriving at Narita airport on July 22 around 4 pm, and I would like to go to Kyoto on the same day. But since it's around 4 hrs to get there, so just wondering if there's an overnight train that we can take. If so, how much extra that we have to pay? We'll be getting the 7 day pass.

Hi there,
I am afraid that there are no night services that would be practical here.
My advise would be so travel into Tokyo - stay there for the night - and travel on the following morning to Kyoto. However you could also still use late trains from 4 pm to travel to Kyoto if you really want to.

Hi again!
You can check the train schedule via www.hyperdia.com, just put in the date/time when you want to travel and remove the search options with Nozomi and private railways.
