Just realized that there is no way to do online reservations, I'm traveling during golden week, I'm afraid I got stuck and behind my itinerary. It's actually that impossible to get on a shinkansen? Hi there,
You can make all of your reservations as soon as you exchange the pass (at the same ticket office which is useful!) - Also consider there are multiple shinkansen services running very frequently, I wouldn't be worried. You can still reserve seats online for JR-East trains on the Eki-Net site.
