I just received my JR regular pass. we are taking the train from tokyo to Kyoto on April 25. Do we need to reserve seats or just hop in a regular JR train? thank you

Hi there,
You don't need to make reservations but we do recommend doing so 1-2 days before you travel, this way you have secure seating and don't have to queue.
