I had the opportunity to visit your country last March. On that trip, on March 6, 2024, I made a purchase in person at the ticket office of JR shinkansen, the ticket was from Tokyo to osaka and from osaka to kyoto, and Kyoto - Tokio. I used my VISA credit card. The person who attended me and processed the charge made a mistake in the dates of my travel and then, after checking the receipts, explained to me that he needs to charge me again and in approximately one month later I would receive a transfer of the price paid in error. I went to inquire afterwards and the person who attends me said that this action would be done automatically. This has not happened yet. The best advice I can give you is to gather the documentation you have, and inform your credit card company about the situation. Hopefully they can reserve the transaction.
