Is the japan railpass same with sinkansen? Or is it MRT? How much is the fee from Osaka to Tokyo Shinjuku by sinkansen at 28th December and is the ticket price for adult and children the same, also must we buy the ticket days before the departure or we buy the ticket on the departure date? Thx

Hi there,
I don't completely get your question. So I hope that this is the answer you are looking for.
The JR Pass does cover the Shinkansen but not the metro. The price for a one way ticket Tokyo - Osaka on the Shinkansen is around ¥ 14,450.
Since this is around the new year period, I would advise to purchase tickets in advance.
