Advice needed

I checked your itinerary for the best options and have to say that there is no pass that easily matches your itinerary. Therefor I think the best option would simply be to buy normal tickets as you explore Japan. A JR Pass could certainly be useful if you also added a visit to Kyoto or Osaka.

What about a JR East Pass? Will it be good?

The JR East Pass is useful for travel north of Tokyo and Nagano. Generally you would have to do a bit more travel that you do now to make a JR East Pass count.

Thank you for your advice. May I know if it is necessary to reserve bullet train tickets in advance before my trip? Or can I just go to the train station to buy a ticket when I need to travel?
If I need to book tickets for my itinerary first, may I know how I can go about doing it?

To learn all about seat reservations have a look at this page.

Generally you can just reserve seats 20min before departure. Unless it is a public Holiday, then you should get them 2-4 days in advance.
