If I purchase a 7 day pass on a Monday at 12 noon... is it for 7 days (including that Monday) or until the following Monday at 12 noon.

Hi there,
Just a quick note, you are unable to purchase a JR Pass in Japan - I assume you mean activating. Once you activate a pass, regardless of the time you activate it it will be active until midnight of the 7th day.
