Kansai Wide Area Pass - validity (time)

Hello!
I have a question regarding the exact time within which I could use the [Kansai Wide Area Pass] (https://www.jrpass.com/regional-passes/kansai-wide-area-pass#regional_pass_type).

If I purchase it online, before arriving to Japan:
- Does it become active on the purchase date? Or: - Can I activate it myself on a date of choice, while in Japan? Or: - Is it obligatory to activate it at the Kansai Airport the day I arrive? Otherwise, is it the same if I buy it online OR at the Kansai airport, on the arrival date?

Hi there,

To begin using the Kansai Wide Area Pass, you'll need to activate it in Japan and set an activation date. This date can be set for the same day you activate it, or can be set for a future date. This means that ordering the Pass from our site does NOT make it become active upon purchase date, rather you will receive an exchange order to be used when in Japan.

In such case, I can proceed with the purchase online from jrpass.com site, and will activate upon arrival in the airport or in one of the indicated locations.
