Given your itinerary, and since your journeys are spread out, it would be better to use individual tickets. For the western portion of your trip, you may be interested in these regional passes:

• Setouchi Area Pass
• Sanyo-San'in Area Pass

Both of these regional passes allow you to use the Nozomi and Mizuho - the fastest Shinkansen services - between Shin-Osaka and Hakata (Fukuoka).
