Hi there,
I was sort of surprised by the title of "Toronto", as much as I love the city, we don't have JR trains there ^^
As for your question, if you want the fastest option, I'd just buy a return ticket Tokyo - Osaka on the Shinkansen. If you want to budget friendly option + good views, then consider the Hokuriku Arch Pass.
