My son has lost his ticket. I still have the JR pass (as evidence we purchased a ticket) and also a reserved seat ticket for Osaka to Tokyo.

I'm sorry to hear about your lost pass. The JR Pass can not be replaced when lost or stolen. The best option is to check around where you may have lost it. In Japan, lost items are often returned.
If it was at the station or train, contact the closest JR lost and found station. If it was in an area, try the local police box.
