Hi,
I and my family comprising of 4 adults and 1 child is planning to visit japan for about 10 days towards the end of June 2017. We intend to spend about 3 nights in Tokyo and then spend about 6 nights in Hokkaido .visit places in and around Tokyo and Hokkaido. Pls let me know how many days of JR pass would be good enough keeping in view minimum cost and maximum sight seeing.

Hi there,
I would recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you can make the return from Tokyo - Hokkaido and back within the 7 day period. With would give you the best possible savings and make great savings of the Japan Rail Pass.

Hi Manoj,
Travel within Tokyo does not cost a lot compared to long distance travel. You would be fine buying normal tickets or day tickets like the Tokyo Metro.

Need your advise. We would be landing at Narita airport by about 2 PM. We would want to avail JR from Narita Airport to go to Sapporo ( Avail JR pass facility) on the same evening. Could you pls suggest the best time and the route ? Alos how do I get hold of the latest time table of JR
