Which is the best ticket option for my intinerary?

Hello!

We are going to Japan next October and need to know which pass to buy. This is our itinerary:

13/10 Narita Airport- Tokyo
17/10 Tokio- Nikko - Tokyo (same day)
20/10 Tokyo - Takayama
22/10 Takayama - Kanazawa - Takayama (same day)
23/10 Takayama - Kyoto
25/10 Kyoto - Himeji - Kyoto (same day)
26/10 Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto (same day)
28/10 Kyoto - Tokyo
30/10 Tokyo - Hakone - Tokyo (same day)
31/10 Tokyo - Kamakura - Tokyo (same day)
02/11 - Tokyo - Narita Airport

Hi Roberta,

You'll be travelling so much and for many days that I would use a 21 day Japan Rail Pass will be a bargain! It will cover train travel between all the cities that you visit and help you make very good savings.

Hi Daniel,

Thanx for your answer. If I count The days os actual travel between cities, It would be 11 days, excluding the transportation inside the cities, which I dont know If the JR Pass covers. Don't u think the 14 day pass Will be enough? Or JR Pass also covers the Tokyo and Kyoto subway?

Hi Roberta,

I just looked at the route and the amount of travel cost it would be, this is less than the 21 day JR Pass. So a 14 day JR Pass will be even more cost efficient.

The metro/subway is not included in the JR Pass but you can use local JR lines instead.
