i will be spending new years holidays in japan. I will be arriving in tokyo December 30th, and will be moving to Kyoto january 3rd.
I will start using the rail pass for that trip to Kyoto (7 days till the 10th).
So..if i exchange the pass at the airport on the train, Can i immediately reserve tickets for Kyoto? Since it's holidays periodo, i'm afraid it's gonna be too late to find two seats for us.

3/4 days in advance would be enough to find a spot on the tokyo - kyoto shinkansen for jamuary 3rd?
Yes, you should be able to book 2 seats at that time. Just do it on your day of arrival to be sure.
