Tokyo - Osaka travel

Will be arriving in Tokyo on 13 Dec and will stay for 3 nights, then travel to Osaka for another 2 nights. Will be flying back from Osaka back to home.

For transportation from Tokyo to Osaka, Tokyo transport and Osaka transport, what do I need to buy for transport passes?

How many hours from Tokyo to Osaka?

For the Japan Rail Pass, how many days is the delivery from day of order?

How and where should I activate the JR pass?

Lastly, would appreciate if you can advise on nice spots to visit for Tokyo and Osaka that are good for 2days each. Thanks!

Hi there!

A would recommend a 7 day JR Pass if you make a return from Tokyo to Osaka and back. However for one way it is better to buy normal tickets for the Shinkansen which takes about 160-180minutes to travel between Tokyo and Osaka station.

For visiting tips in Tokyo and Kyoto? Do you have specific interests, because there are many many great options.
My personal favourites are Asakusa, where you can find the Cannon Temple. In Kyoto be sure to visit Kyomizu dera which is one of the most beautiful temples in Kyoto.
