Seat Reservation

Hi Tricia,

Yes you can make a reservation for this with the JR-Pass!
Simply go to any JR-Ticket office, show your JR-Pass, tell the staff where you would like to go and the time.
The staff will than make the reservation and print the tickets.

Now you are good to go!

However I will reach Fukuoka on 28 Mar (late night) and I am planning to go Yufuin on 30 Mar. I am worried the seats will be fully reserved by the time I reach. In your opinion, will I still be able to secure a seat in this case?

Hi Tricia,

That does complicate things, March this 30th is a national holiday and weekend so it may be booked by then, still there are a couple of trains a day so you may be able to obtain a seat.

Will you be traveling alone?
