This forum is very informative. I do have a few questions. We're travelling to Japan for 6 days. Mainly, we'll stay in Tokyo but in the middle of our trip, we are planning to go to Nikko or Hakone for 2 days and 1 night. With the transportation from Narita to Tokyo, would you suggest to get the 7-day JR pass? Any suggestions?

For Tokyo, Narita Airport and a day trip to Nikko, I would advise buying normal tickets. As normal tickets will be below the price of the JR Pass.
If you made a return to Kyoto for instance, then a JR Pass would make for a good option.
