Hi,

I would like to know whether by purchasing JR Pass through this website allows us to make online reservations?

If it is possible, may I know whether it is for all JR Company or just a certain.

I look forward to your response.

Hi there,

Unfortunately you would only be able to make reservations for JR-East trains online when purchasing the pass from jrpass.com, using the Eki-net site. Not sure why the other JR Companies haven't opened this up too so it causes a bit of inconvenience. However it does mean (for example) that if you were to fly into Tokyo and then want to take a westbound Shinkansen service to Kyoto, you would be able to book this under JR-East jurisdiction.
