Hello,

Please advise on JR rail pass. Will travel in February and land in Narita airport around 4 pm on Monday and want to go to Osaka(Shinsaibashi) and stay for 4 days then back to Tokyo(Ueno) for two or three days then back to Narita Airport for a flight back to the US.

We need 3 pass for 7 days. Which trains do we need to take and how long does it take for shinkansen bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo?

Hello there,

First use the Narita Express train from Narita Airport to Tokyo station.
You can take any Hikari Shinkansen train from Tokyo station to Shin-Osaka station. The route takes about 180 minutes and is fully covered by the JR Pass.

From Shin-Osaka the best way to Shinsaibashi is by the Osaka Subway, this is not covered but only costs 200yen.

What time is the LAST Hikari Shinkansen train in Tokyo and Osaka for weekday and weekend?
How often Hikari Shinkasen will be arrive in Tokyo station such as every 30 minutes?

Since we will be arrive at Narita Airport at 4 pm and I guess it will take about 1 hour to get to Tokyo by Narita Express. Just don't want to miss Hikari Shinkansen train.
