If you are able to answer these questions, it would be helpful.
1) Are the Japan Rail Pass Tickets consecutive days (ie 21 days) or # of days of use (ie 21 days on and off)?
2) When should one purhcase tickets, how far in advance?
3) Does it pay to buy the Japan Rail Pass while one is staying in Tokyo?
4) When does one make reservations for the specific train?

Hi there,
1.) The Japan Rail Pass is counted in consecutive days.
2.) I generally recommend at least 2 weeks in advance, this gives ample time for delivery.
3.) It depends how much you travel with it, I would need to see what trips you make to say for sure.
