General Rail ticket prices

Hi there,

Are general single trip rail fares due to increase in addition to the rail pass?

I am planning a trip from Kyoto > Kanazawa > Takayama (via Toyama station) > Hakone (via Nagoya and Odawara stations) > Tokyo over a 7 day period. The current JR 7 day pass and the price of individual tickets at their current price are similar for this route. Is it worthwhile getting the JR pass assuming there is an anticipated rise in general rail fares?
