from Odawara to Nagoya

HI, I would like to make a day trip from Tokyo to Odawara& Hakone and in the evening travel to Nagoya by train from Odawara...Any suggestions please about the train departures ? I aleady have JRpass ...Also the trip I`m planning is on Saturday, would I need to reserve seats on that day as I have heard train are very busy on weekends...Thank you in advance for your kind response.

Hi there!

This should not be very hard to do. You can use the Shinkansen for travel from Tokyo - Odawara (36 Minutes) which is the Shinkansen station for Hakone and travel on from Odawara to Nagoya (71 Minutes) in the evening. I would suggest making the seat reservations for the whole day before departure or the day before, just to be sure.

Trains depart every 30min so you never have to wait long.
