We fell in love with Japan after our first sop over for 4 nights in Tokyo last April.
We are going again in November, this time for 14 days, landing in Osaka and leaving from Tokyo.
Travel plan is as follows:
1. Few days in Osaka
2. Travel from Osaka to Wakayama, Katsuura,
3. Travel from Wakayama, Katsuura, to Kyoto
4. Travel from Kyoto to Motohakone 160-51, HakoneHakone
5. Travel from Motohakone 160-51, HakoneHakone to Tokyo

Does it make any sense to by the JR pass for $450?
If we do does it allow us to travel by the bullet train? Or there is no bullet train in our path?
Thanks

Hi there!

The JR Pass would cover the Shinkansen (bullet train) between Kyoto and Tokyo. The JR Pass can also get you some very good savings if you use it for multiple Shinkasen trips, however your travel is somewhat limited so the price of 45,100 may not pay off and I think that for now it would be better to stick with normal tickets (you still get to ride the Shinkansen though).

For Hakone, consider a Hakone Free Pass which is a great way to travel around in Hakone and make is valid on all kinds of transport and attractions in the area.

Have a great time in Japan!
Daniel
