Hi there!

i will be travelling to Japan next week. Am planning to buy the 7 day JR pass for my trip. I will be arriving on 12th August and would like to use my JR pass right away on the narita express. Will it be possible? Since I saw some info on the internet that Narita express is a reserved car and tickets need to be collected a day prior. If yes, how to reserve my tickets in advance?

Also I am planning to go to Kyoto right away. Can i collect all tickets for my 7 days journey at Narita JR pass ticket office?

Hi Vidia,

Yes you can exchange your JR Pass at Narita Airport and get tickets for the Narita Express right away. At the same time it is also possible to reserve tickets to Kyoto and all the other travel you may wish to do with the JR Pass.

So I don't need to reserve my seat in advance for the Narita express and I can buy all my tickets there at JR office in Narita right?

That's correct, you can just get the tickets once you arrive at Narita Airport.
