Hi Daniel,

My kid was born in early July 2004. We will travel to Japan in the middle of July 2016. Since JR pass is valid for 3 months, I plan to buy the pass around April 26, 2016. My kid is 11 years old at the purchase time, but will be 12 years old at the activation date when we arrive Japan.

Can I buy a child ticket for my kid?

Hello Jeff,

The day of purchase for the JR Pass is leading. You can buy a child pass for your child if he/she is below the age of 12 at time of puchase.
