Hello, we are wondering whether to buy a Japan railcard for 7 days of a 13 night trip, starting the rail pass from Hakone/ Odawara or a regional 5 day Kansai pass, starting from Kyoto. We are travelling
1. Tokyo (4 nights) - Hakone (2 nights),
2. Hakone - Kyoto (4 nights)
3. Kyoto -Hiroshima (1 night)
4. Hiroshima - Osaka (2 nights)
We plan to visit Mijayima and Nara
What would you advise is the best value please?

Hi there,
A 7-day JR Pass is a good option for your trip. Since there is no exchange office in Hakone, I recommend exchanging it in Tokyo beforehand.
You can find JR Pass exchange locations here.
You could also consider using the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass from Kyoto.
