Recommended passes for our planned itineary

Hi JR Pass experts.

May I request help on the recommended tickets/passes to purchase for our trip to Japan in May, 2025. Here is our itinerary:

May 13, Arrive Tokyo (HND)
May 14: Visit Tokyo
May 15: Travel to Osaka via high speed train
May 16: Visit Osaka
May 17: Visit Hiroshima
May 18: Visit Kyoto
May 19th: Visit Nara
May 20th: Travel to Tokyo
May 21: Depart Tokyo (HND).

What is the recommended passes to purchase? Thanks so much for the help, Todd

Hi there,

I would recommend a 7-day JR Pass for your itinerary, to use between the 15th to the 21st. This means that the only separate ticket you'll need to purchase will be a Tokyo Monorail ticket when you land from Haneda to Tokyo.
