My family of 4 people will stay in Tokyo for 2 days and Osaka for 7 days. We are thinking of buying a 7 days JR pass but would like to find out if it worth it ?
Day 1 : Tokyo (sightseeing)
Day 2 : Tokyo (sightseeing)
Day 3 : Tokyo to Osaka
Day 4 : Osaka (sight seeing)
Day 5 : Osaka to Kyoto
Day 6 : Osaka to Kobe
Day 7 : Osaka (sight seeing)
Day 8 : Osaka (sight seeing)
Day 9 : Itami airport

For your trip I would recommend buying normal rail tickets. A Japan Rail Pass is recommended if you make at least a return Tokyo - Osaka but you will be travelling one way.
