15 day Honshu + Hokkaido

How easy would it be on the jrpass to sightsee in Hokkaido as well as the main parts of mainland japan, tokyo hiroshima kyoto osaka etc over 15 days? Is it just too much to try and to the north as well as all the main southern parts?

Hi there,

Once you are on the main island of Honshu, travel times between destinations comes down a lot due to the bullet train network. For example, from Aomori at the top of Honshu to Tokyo (713km) takes only 3h10m by the Hayabusa bullet train valid with Japan Rail Pass.

If you have a 2 weeks trip I think it's a great idea to split a trip around Hokkaido with a trip around mainland Japan.
