I am looking for shorter route from Kyoto station to Isawa Onsen station. I looked at Hyperdia and it is giving me a total trip length of 4.5 hours. Is there another public transport that I could use to shorten this trip; say, a combination of shinkansen and bus. We have very limited time.

Hi there,

Hyperdia by default shows the fastest route. Looking at the trip to Isawa-Onsen, 4 to 4.5 hours does sound about right.

I am afraid there is nothing to do about it, expect plan for it in advance.
